They can't find a bed in Southampton so the surgeons here in salisbury will operate. It would take to long to transfer him to Bristol or oxford. He will have an abdominal wash out and may need several more washouts during the next week. They will release the obstruction but as his bowel is infected it may be damage more. He may need a colostomy bag.
He will go to theatre in a few hours. He may be moved to salisbury intensive care unit until there is a bed in a paediatric intensive care unit or he may stay in the children's unit here. He will be in hospital for several weeks now.
Sam is very upset about the thought if another operation but he does not know all the details.
